There was no shortage of Week 4 college football upsets and here are the five most surprising results of the past week.

There were nearly so many college football upsets during Week 4 that we might have had to expand the list to include them all.

Oregon State and Washington State both had leads late in the fourth quarter against USC and Oregon, respectively. Neither was able to seal the deal. Wake Forest also fell short of an upset against Clemson.

Texas A&M also beat Arkansas in a rankings upset. Not all college football upsets are the same and the Aggies were actually favored as the No. 23 team in the AP poll compared to Arkansas which was ranked 10th.

Upset or not, the Aggies won. However, there were some much more shocking upsets in College Football Week 4, and here are the top five.

The odds are from Draft Kings.

5. Miami Ohio at Northwestern (-8)

Pat Fitzgerald and Northwestern opened the season on a high note by beating Nebraska. Yet, the win over the 1-3 Huskers isn’t looking so good. Northwestern was down by 11 points twice in that game and if Scott Frost didn’t try that onside kick, the Wildcats might be 0-4.

Losing to Duke at home was one thing. The Blue Devils look solid. But dropping back-to-back games at home against Southern Illinois and Miami of Ohio is just embarrassing.

That’s not to say the Redhawks are a bad team. They made a bowl game last season and Keyon Mozee had 171 rushing yards on 21 carries to lead Miami (OH) to the win.

It’s hard to give up over 200 rushing yards at home to a MAC team and not start to feel a little pressure. I’m not saying Fitzgerald is going to be on the hot seat soon, but this is a results-based business and that magical 2020 season seems longer than two years ago.
