2. Miles Davis, Christopher Brooks need more touches

For the second straight week, it was Miles Davis and Christopher Brooks who carried the run game for BYU. The Cougars didn’t have much of a run game on Thursday night before the fourth quarter, putting a lot of the pressure on Jaren Hall to get the job done.

And that might be an issue.

But it’s also promising to know that a freshman running back may be the answer to the backfield’s questions. Davis looked like an absolute burner yet again and he had a decent night on not a ton of carries. He finished with 39 yards on eight carries, averaging 4.9 yards per touch.

Brooks put up some decent yards late in the game which made the overall rushing attack look fine, but both guys need more carries. He finished the game with 90 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Hopefully the injury that Davis suffered in the fourth quarter isn’t too serious.
