Week 4 of the college football season is in the books and we have a better idea of who is really a contender and which teams are pretenders.
For example, Georgia is an absolute contender and looks likely to win a second straight national title after dismantling the No. 11 team in the country, 49-3, in the opener. On the flip side, Notre Dame has proven to be a pretender after starting the season in the top 10. The Irish began the season 0-2 before beating Cal and North Carolina in back-to-back weeks but don’t expect to see them ranked any time soon.
We’ve also seen some teams shoot up and down the rankings this season. Penn State has gone from unranked to No. 11 in the latest rankings while Oregon began the season No. 11 before dropping out after the Georgia blowout loss and now the Ducks are back up to No. 13 after some impressive wins. Texas A&M is another example of a team that is moving a ton in the rankings.
The biggest game last week was between Texas A&M and Arkansas and both teams played well enough to win but it was the Aggies who bounced back with a big win.
We learned a lot from the first four weeks of play and now we’re heading into Week 5 with the headliner game being Clemson vs. NC State.
Let’s get into some bold predictions — one for every Top 25 team, to be exact.
