College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 6
College football ages like fine wine. Right when you think the start of the season is the wildest we’ll see, we really get into the meat of the schedule and are immediately proven wrong.
The weekend started with Washington hitting the road to take on UCLA in some Friday night #Pac12AfterDark action. The game was as wild as everyone expected as Washington raced out to a huge lead over the No. 15 Huskies before they chipped away at it to make it 40-32 with minutes left. Ultimately, UCLA ended Washington’s perfect season bid.
On Saturday afternoon, Michigan traveled to Iowa, Minnesota hosted Purdue, and Oklahoma took the trip south to Forth Worth to play TCU. The latter two didn’t go as planned as Purdue and TCU upset Minnesota and Oklahoma, respectively. Michigan took care of Iowa, as expected.
Ole Miss was also able to hang on against Kentucky in a top-15 matchup that was close until the final whistle.
The afternoon slate was a little more intriguing as Alabama survived a scare after a shaky third quarter and Bryce Young injury to blow out Arkansas 49-26. Oklahoma State also went on the road to beat the No. 16 Baylor Bears, making a statement in the Big 12 title race.
There weren’t any more huge games outside of Clemson and NC State in primetime as the subject of College GameDay and that ended with a huge win by the Tigers.
So what will the AP Top 25 look like for Week 6?
