Some people were high on an upset for Michigan this week as it hit the road for the first time on the season, playing Iowa in Kinnick Stadium.

The game wasn’t close.

Iowa just couldn’t stock Blake Corum and that offense as the score was 20-0 late in the second half before the Hawkeyes finally found the end zone.

With a 20-7 lead, Michigan had a scare as the Hawkeyes were driving and in the red zone with a chance to cut the lead to one score, but Michigan’s defense stood tall and shut the door. In the end, it was Corum who really put the game away with a rushing touchdown to make it 27-7 and Iowa added a meaningless score.

Michigan looks really good right now and it’s probably the favorite in the Big Ten along with Ohio State.

Jim Harbaugh’s defense may not be quite as good as last year’s, but the offense’s ceiling with JJ McCarthy is much higher.
