College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 6
BYU didn’t play particularly well on Thursday night, but the Cougars were able to pull away in the second half for a 38-26 win. It wasn’t convincing against Utah State, but it was enough to add to the win column and improve to 4-1. Jaren Hall had another solid game but the rest of the team didn’t wake up until the second half.
Wake Forest will see a healthy jump this week with four teams right ahead of them losing this week and by going on the road to beat a ranked Florida State team. Sam Hartman just never gets enough love but he’s as consistent as any quarterback in college football. A 10-point road win at Florida State deserves some love.
We’re going to see the Wildcats drop a bit after a tough road loss to Ole Miss but I was impressed that they were even in this game, honestly. Winning on the road against a solid Rebels team wasn’t going to be easy and they kept it close and even had a shot to tie or take the lead in the final minutes but a turnover near the red zone ended those hopes. Impressed by this Kentucky team.
Oregon has a prime opportunity to add to the resume with a win over conference foe Stanford and the Cardinal aren’t exactly the type of team you expect to put up a huge fight. I’m expecting a convincing win here by the Ducks.
Utah had zero problem with Oregon State and while I think there will be plenty of votes for the Utes to be ranked in the top 10 this week, I just don’t see voters giving them the nod over Penn State who was at No. 11 last week. The Utes continue to impress after that season-opening loss at Florida and Cameron Rising is as consistent as they come. I’m buying stock in the Utes, but they’ll be No. 11.
