I think we’re finally going to see Penn State in the top 10 this week even with an uninspiring win over Northwestern at home.

You could argue that Northwestern is the worst Big Ten team this season and Penn State didn’t exactly dominate the Wildcats from start to finish. No one should have expected that because Pat Fitzgerald is still a good coach, but scoring just 17 points against Northwestern which had lost back-to-back games to Southern Illinois and Miami (OH) at home is not the best sign.

Penn State will get it figured out and Sean Clifford will have better games, but if the Nittany Lions think they’re going to get away with a performance like this again and have a shot in the Big Ten, they’re sadly mistaken.

James Franklin needs to get this team right after an ugly win, but I feel like every Big Ten team is due for one of these every year.

No touchdowns in the second half, though? Woof.
