Tom Herman, former Texas HC

Tom Herman would be a home-run hire for the Buffs. He’s another name that’s going to be on a lot of lists for Colorado football and he should be.

There’s a lot of negative talk about his time at Texas but if you look at the record, he won 32 games in four years. He only won 10 games once but he was fired after a 7-3 season and a bowl win over Colorado.

Texas decided to upgrade with Steve Sarkisian but Herman has a 54-22 record in six seasons. He’s never missed a bowl game and he also was an assistant at Ohio State under Urban Meyer.

Herman is known as an offensive guru. He can recruit and he would create some buzz for the Buffaloes. You wonder if Arizona State or Georgia Tech or even Nebraska would make a run at Herman. Colorado should and right now there’s no need to wait.

Jeff Lebby is another name I would consider if I was the Buffaloes but they need a proven winner in my opinion and Tom Herman is exactly that despite the reputation.
