College football Week 5 winners and losers are here after a stellar week of games, headlined by Ole Miss upsetting Kentucky

We saw some truly great performances from top teams this week. In fact, four of college football’s top-five ranked teams all won this week by 10 or more points in conference matchups. Georgia was the only top-five team that struggled this week, nearly getting upset on the road while at Missouri.

A few ranked teams fell this week, including No. 17 Texas A&M, who fell to Mississippi State on the road. No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 21 Minnesota, No. 23 Florida State, and No. 24 Pittsburgh all lost this week, putting their ranked status into question when the new AP Top 25 poll comes out.

But, let’s dive in and take a look at who had a great Week 5 of college football.

Winner: Ole Miss crowd

A few days before the team’s matchup vs Kentucky, Ole Miss Head Coach gave some passive-aggressive remarks to the media about how embarrassing the Rebels’ home crowd has looked as of late in Oxford.

“When you come back out, run out of the tunnel and it looks like a high school game playing in a college stadium, you can’t let that affect you,” Kiffin said.

The fans, who are well known to enjoy the pregame festivities sometimes a little too much that they forget there’s a football game they need to head into.

The fans showed up and showed out for this massively important Kentucky game. The Rebels are heading into Vanderbilt next week with a perfect 5-0 record and the team best suited to challenge Alabama for SEC-West supremacy.
