2. Lance Leipold, Kansas HC

I’m a massive fan of Lance Leipold and what he’s been able to do at Kansas in just two years.

Leipold came over from Buffalo where he went 37-33 in six years and even won 10 games one time. That was after he had a legendary coaching career at Wisconsin-Whitewater in Division III where he won six national titles and went to seven in eight years. He was an absolute Divison III legend. Oh, and that happened in Wisconsin.

This would make a ton of sense for both sides. Leipold has been climbing the ladder for years now and he got his college coaching start in Wisconsin. He could go back to the state where he had all that success and lead the Badgers back to the top of the Big Ten.

Leipold took over arguably the worst Power Five program in college football and after going 2-10 in his first season, he’s turned things around quickly with a 5-0 record and the Jayhawks are actually ranked No. 19 in the country and they’re hosting College GameDay in Week 6.

If Wisconsin wants to venture outside the program and get a coach who will undoubtedly build it back up in a hurry, Leipold is that guy.
