Per a source from Adam Rittenberg, the Wisconsin Badgers have parted ways with longtime head coach Paul Chryst:

Wisconsin athletic director Chris McIntosh released the following statement:

“After a heartfelt and authentic conversation with Chryst about what is in the long-term best interest of our football program, I have concluded that now is the time for a change in leadership. Paul is a man of integrity who loves his players. I have great respect and admiration for Paul and the legacy of him and his family at the University of Wisconsin.”

Chryst was 67-26 in eight seasons at Wisconsin in eight seasons. The Badgers won ten or more games four times and won three Big Ten West titles under Chryst but struggled the last three seasons. Starting quarterback Graham Mertz — the highest-rated quarterback ever signed by Wisconsin — has not turned the corner and developed.

The Badgers struggled out of the gate this season, going 2-3, including home losses to Illinois and Washington State. Wisconsin was also blown out by Ohio State 54-21, one of its worst losses in recent memory.

Who will the Badgers choose to replace Chryst? Here are five possibilities.
