We are now entering our first full week of college football in October, and with that comes another great slate of games. No. 8 Tennessee, with potentially its best team since the 90s and a Heisman hopeful in quarterback Hendon Hooker, travels to Death Valley to face off against Brian Kelly’s No. 25 LSU Tigers.

No.18 UCLA, fresh off of an upset against Washington, will look to earn their second straight top-15 win against No. 11 Utah, the preseason favorites to win the Pac 12.

America’s team at the moment, the No.19 Kansas Jayhawks, hosts 17th-ranked TCU, who is fresh off of a blowout victory against Oklahoma. Despite all of the buzz that these games are getting, there are a few underrated matchups in College Football Week 6 that are just as enticing. We’ll look at three of those today.

1. #16 BYU at Notre Dame

7:30 pm EST on NBC

After their embarrassing loss to Marshall, the college football world tuned out Notre Dame as an upper-tier team for the 2022 season. This narrative was forwarded after needing a fourth-quarter comeback to get their first win of the season… against Cal. However, their offense finally figured things out and scored 45 points to gain a solid road win over North Carolina. Drew Pyne, who was thrust into the starting role after Tyler Buchner’s injury in the Marshall game, was solid, going 24-34 with almost 300 yards and 3tds.

Coming off of a bye week, the Fighting Irish will look to test their progress against the 16th-ranked Cougars. Their lone loss comes from a tough road game against Oregon and has a win against Baylor in their back pocket. Led by quarterback Jaren Hall, with over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns on the year, this is a legitimate BYU team that could feasibly run the table from here.

BYU is chasing a New Year’s Six bowl, and Notre Dame is chasing respect. Both need a win this week in order to achieve these goals, and it is sure to be a great game.
