3. Michael Mayer is the best player on either side

Michael Mayer is by far the best player on either team between Notre Dame and BYU. The humongous tight end is a real difference maker out there on the field.

The junior tight end can really do it all. He can catch, he can block, and he can run. Three main factors to why many believe he is the best all around tight end in the country. If you look at the tape it is hard to argue against him being the best tight end in the nation.

Mayer had a slower start to the 2022 season, but had a real breakout game in Week 4 against North Carolina. He finished the game with 7 receptions for 88 yards, and a receiving touchdown.

Look for Mayer to continue where he left out the last time he was on the field. Offensive Coordinator Tommy Rees and the rest of offensive staff will make sure to get the ball into what people call “Baby Gronk” hands a lot against BYU. Mayer will find the end zone at least once in Las Vegas.
