No. 16 BYU vs Notre Dame (-3.5) Las Vegas (7:30 EST NBC)

This is one of the most interesting games of College Football Week 6. Notre Dame still has an outside shot of making a major bowl game if it can win out and BYU can probably say the same thing.

The Cougars did lose to Oregon but they are still ranked as a top-20 team and if BYU football can beat Notre Dame on a neutral field, the Cougars would have the inside track on the New Years Bowl bid that goes to Group of Five Teams.

Jaren Hall has been outstanding for the Cougars and has 12 touchdown passes. BYU football also averages more than 290 yards per game.

Yet, the Cougars moved the ball fairly well against Oregon but scored 13 of its 20 points in the fourth quarter, well after the game was decided.

Notre Dame football has already faced two of the best quarterbacks in the FBS in C.J. Stroud and Drake Maye of North Carolina. The defense held up just fine against both. Notre Dame will need to force a takeaway or two but Drew Pyne has found his footing at quarterback.

He’s been solid during the last two games and found Michael Mayer and Lorenzo Styles Jr. a lot in the win over North Carolina. The run game was effective too as Audric Estime and Chris Tyree both had over big days.

They’ll combine for over well over 100 yards Saturday and the Irish will win the game. They will also cover the spread.
