We are already in Week 6 and College GameDay has a truly special location for this mid-season show: Lawrence, Kan.

Did anyone have ‘College GameDay visiting Kansas’ on their 2022 season bingo card?

The Jayhawks are undefeated and Lance Leipold is the hottest coaching name in college football through five weeks. They’re actually ranked after being the laughingstock of the sport for years. Leipold deserves national coach of the year honors even if he loses out.

With this undefeated start, Kansas has jumped to No. 19 in the rankings and it’ll be hosting No. 17 TCU on Saturday afternoon.

College GameDay will be there with a fun celebrity guest picker.

Who will be the College GameDay picker for Week 6?

OK, I’m excited about this one. It’s Rob Riggle.

Riggle actually attended Kansas before getting into acting so this pick makes perfect sense.

A year ago, Rob Riggle was helping usher in another Kansas basketball season by appearing at the annual Late Night at the Phog. This year, he’ll be on campus for another huge event: College GameDay.

Honestly, no one saw this matchup being featured when the season began, but TCU has exceeded expectations and, obviously, Kansas has been the nation’s favorite underdog.

It’s been a tough decade-plus for Kansas football and Jayhawk fans deserve this after suffering through what feels like endless disappointing seasons. This ‘basketball school’ is trying to change the narrative and it’ll start with this College GameDay appearance to try and prove something.

Even if the Jayhawks lose, they’ve exceeded expectations.

Oh, and Riggle will be a fun watch on Saturday morning.
