College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 7
What a weird week it was for some top-10 teams. Like a handful of other top-10 teams, USC struggled for at least one half with Washington State before finally shutting the door.
While Washington State has proven to be no pushover this season, I was pleasantly surprised by the fight that it put up for the first half. There was hope for the Cougars through just two quarters, trailing by only a field goal.
The Trojans were just too much in the second half and showed just why they’re the best team in the Pac-12. They didn’t really feel a ton of pressure from the Cougars in the final two frames as they cruised to a victory to put them at 6-0 on the year and bowl eligible.
It’s hard to believe that this team won just four games last year, but that’s the impact that Caleb Williams, Jordan Addison, and Lincoln Riley can have on a program.
