Winner: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After a metric ton of panic permeated throughout the Notre Dame fan base to start the college football season, the Irish have rattled off three consecutive wins including a massive 28-20 win over No. 16 ranked BYU in Las Vegas during Week 6.

The Irish allowed BYU barely more than 19 minutes to possess the ball throughout the entire game and held QB Jaren Hall to just nine completed passes.

Marcus Freeman and his team are finally clicking after dropping the season opener at Ohio State and being shocked by Marshall a week later. They’ve since earned wins over California, UNC, and now BYU. Things are finally back on track for the Irish, with a date against Stanford coming up next.

Winner: Alabama K Will Reichard

The Crimson Tide escaped with a 24-20 win over Texas A&M and no one is happier than Alabama kicker Will Reichard. The senior kicker missed two crucial second-half field goals that would have given the Tide plenty of breathing room down the stretch against the formidable Aggies.

Reichard missed a 47-yard field goal in the third quarter that would have put Alabama up 17-27 and a 35-yarder that would have theoretically extended their lead by 13 points and a score of 17-30. It would have put the game on ice and saved the team a lot of panic and prevented them from nearly being upset.

Texas A&M ended up getting all the way to the Alabama two-yard line with three seconds left in the game while down just four points, but couldn’t get the ball into the end zone. The fact that Alabama won the game despite the poor performance has to be a huge sigh of relief for the Hoover, Ala. native.
