College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 8

Was anyone really surprised by this one? Georgia got a “bye” week of sorts, taking on Vanderbilt in Athens and coming away with a 55-0 win.

The Commodores didn’t stand much of a chance here and it was clear from the get-go that this was going to get ugly. It probably could have gotten uglier but it just felt like Georgia was playing with its food all game long.

Stetson Bennett had himself a game, passing for 289 yards and two touchdowns on 24-for-30 passing and the defense stood tall. It just felt like this game was over from the opening kickoff.

We even got to see what Carson Beck was all about as he came in during mop-up duty and passed for 98 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Georgia is the best team in college football this season, but Tennessee, Ohio State, and Michigan are right there.
