College Football Week 8 is jam-packed full of great matchups with massive CFB Playoff implications

College Football Week 8 is here and we’ve got no less than five matchups of ranked teams playing a ranked opponent, creating a number of interesting storylines. Not to mention, there are nine remaining unbeaten teams in college football, creating even more intrigue.

No. 14 Syracuse (6-0) is playing its best football in years and will participate in a massive game against No. 5 Clemson (7-0) at Memorial Stadium in South Carolina. If Syracuse can upset Clemson, will it knock them out of any consideration for the CFB Playoff? Same goes for No. 6 Alabama when they take on No. 24 Mississippi State at home Saturday night.

And who will emerge as the best team from the Big 12 with all four ranked teams playing each other this week in conference matchups? In the Pac-12, you have No. 9 UCLA heading into Autzen Stadium to take on No. 10 Oregon for the top spot after No. 12 USC fell to No. 15 Utah last week.

Let’s take a look at the biggest storylines you need to follow during College Football Week 8, starting with the four-team jousting set to take place this week in the Big 12.

Which Big 12 football team will emerge unscathed from the Week 8 carnage?

The Big 12 currently has four teams ranked in the AP Top 25 and all four are playing against each other this weekend.  No. 20 Texas travels to Stillwater to take on No. 11 Oklahoma State at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. Then, at 8 PM ET on FS1, No. 17 Kansas State will face No. 8 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.

Currently, TCU is the only undefeated team in the Big 12 at 6-0. A loss to K-State would bump them out of first place and complicate the standings further. TCU still has to play Texas, which is set for No. 12 in Austin. That game becomes a massive event if the Longhorns are able to topple OK State this weekend.

Kansas State has to play Oklahoma State and Texas in consecutive weeks after this Week 8 meeting with TCU.

All eyes are on the Big 12 this weekend with these four teams all still in the mix to finish at the top of the conference standings.
