College Football Week 8 has blessed us with five matchups between teams ranked in the top 25 and here is a prediction for each game against the spread.

Last week was a loaded college football schedule and fans were treated to one of the best games of the year as Tennessee ended its reign of terror at the hands of Alabama.

For once, the Vols get a break, at least it looks that way on paper as they will face FCS foe UT-Martin this week. Alabama will be tested right away against one of the surprise teams of the SEC in Mississippi State.

The Bulldogs are ranked in the Top 25 and at this point, we really shouldn’t be surprised when a Mike Leach team overachieves. Especially when it has a quarterback as talented as Will Rogers.

We will break down all five top-25 matchups this week and offer a prediction for each game against the spread, as well as some upset picks starting with the top-10 showdown out in Oregon between UCLA football and the Ducks.

No. 9 UCLA Football at No. 10 Oregon (-6.5)

No one expected UCLA football to be undefeated at this point in the college football season and the only Pac-12 team ranked in the top 10. But that’s where things stand heading into Week 8 of the college football season.

It’s taken Chip Kelly time but he’s finally got the Bruins trending in the right direction. They notched an impressive win over Utah a couple of weeks ago and also beat a pretty good Washington team.

However, one of the common threads between those was that each game was played at the Rose Bowl. That’s not the case on Saturday as the Bruins will travel to Eugene for the top-10 showdown between UCLA football and Oregon.

The Ducks got embarrassed in Week 1 by Georgia (49-3). But since then, Dan Lanning’s team has played exactly as expected. Oregon dominated BYU and pulled out a solid road win at Washington State, thanks to a clutch fourth quarter from Bo Nix.

So far this season, we’ve seen more good Bo than bad Bo. Dorian Thompson-Robinson feels like a legit Heisman contender and Zach Charbonnet has really added a different dimension to UCLA football’s offense.

If this was in California, I might give the Bruins the edge. But I don’t see Chip winning this top-10 matchup at his old stomping grounds.

Score: Oregon 38, UCLA 30
