LSU football fans have probably been wondering why the program hired Brian Kelly and on Saturday, they got their answer as he got a signature win over Ole Miss.

There’s always that one win when a program is trying to turn itself around that signals the change is coming and the first of those wins came on Saturday for LSU football against Ole Miss.

It wasn’t a huge shock that the Tigers pulled the upset. We talked about it happening this week and the oddsmakers actually had LSU football as the favorite.

But, you didn’t know if the Tigers were actually doing to deliver and if the defense was going to hold up against the stellar running game/offense of the Rebels.

In the end, it did and Jayden Daniels stole the show, giving LSU football fans some very real hope, not just for the future but for the reason of next season.

Jayden Daniels was a monster addition

Once again, it shows that if you can land a quality quarterback in the transfer portal, your fortunes can change quickly. Daniels always had talent and when he was productive, Arizona State was able to win games.

A lot of people don’t like Brian Kelly. He’s not the best dancer, I’ll give you that, but the man is a winner and one reason is that he gets the best out of quarterbacks. Jack Coan struggled for Wisconsin but had a really solid season in 2021 for Notre Dame.

Daniels is doing the same thing at LSU and he’s become one of the best dual threats in the SEC. As good as the defense was, Daniels was the reason LSU football won the game.

On Saturday, he tormented seventh-ranked Ole Miss with his arms and legs. Daniels took four sacks but completed 21-of-28 passes for 248 yards and two scores in addition to 23 rushing attempts for 121 yards and three touchdowns.

This win wasn’t a fluke. The Tigers scored 28 unanswered points and all of a sudden, the goals for 2022 are looking a little different than people imagined.
