1. Utah football looks destined to make it back to the Pac-12 title game

Utah passed the second-toughest remaining test on the schedule in the final five weeks of the season, beating a decent Washington State team on the road. Pullman is never an easy place to win, especially in a #Pac12AfterDark situation like this.

But Utah showed grit and eked out a win over the Cougars despite a furious comeback late.

The Utes improved to 6-2 on the season and are now 4-1 in conference play, sitting right behind an undefeated Oregon team which sits atop the Pac-12 standings at 4-0.

Just like last season, it looks like Oregon and Utah are the current favorites to make the Pac-12 title game. And after picking up a big win on Thursday night without their starting quarterback, the Utes look like they’re destined to get back to the championship game.

One tough test remains on the schedule for Utah as it must travel to Eugene to play the red-hot Ducks on Nov. 19, but even if they lose that game, the Utes could still be title-bound for a rematch with the Ducks.

A lot can happen between now and December, but Utah looks like it’s Pac-12 title-worthy.
