Deion Sanders said on College Gameday this morning that “he would entertain offers” and Auburn is one school that needs to come after Coach Prime.

It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Deion Sanders is a head coach at the FBS levels and Coach Prime said as much on College Gameday Saturday morning.

He said that during the ESPN show which is in town to cover the Jackson State vs Southern game, a game that Deion Sanders and his team won with ease.

"“I’d be a fool and liar to tell you I’m not going entertain those things because I am. But I have made no plans to move.”"

Jackson State has quickly become a powerhouse at the HBCU level and won a conference championship last season and is now going to be 8-0. Jackson State is also 5th in the FCS Top 25.

With Coach Prime being open about his interest in the FBS, it comes down to finding the right fit and leaving for the right job.

Sanders has already been connected to the Georgia Tech job and with his ties to the Falcons and the state of Georgia, it makes some sense.

However, I don’t see Sanders leaving his job right now for Georgia Tech. He would be a great candidate and he could find some success but to me, the best possible fit outside of waiting for the Florida State job to open up would be Auburn.

Deion Sanders to Auburn makes too much sense

Auburn has played for the national championship twice since 2010 and had another chance too under Gus Malzahn before losing in the SEC title game and going to the Peach Bowl.

The point is that Auburn can win big in college football and Sanders belongs in the SEC. It would be great to see him go head-to-head with Nick Saban and after landing Travis Hunter, one of the top overall recruits in the 2022 class, it would be fun to see how he does.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any college football program and Coach Prime has no issue with that. He’s exactly the head coach that’s needed to turn Auburn around because, after another double-digit loss for the Tigers to Arkansas, dropping them to 3-5 overall, it’s become clear that Bryan Harsin is not the solution.

Auburn needs a game-changing head coach and Deion Sanders would fit the bill. The Tigers could also put together the kind of money and opportunity that could pry him away from Jackson State.

At the very least, the Tigers need to try because their program is in really bad shape.
