College Football Playoff rankings 2022: Predicting initial top 6 for Week 10
1. Georgia Bulldogs (8-0)
Georgia probably didn’t expect Florida to put up much of a fight in their annual rivalry game in Jacksonville, but even with the Gators’ best shot, the Bulldogs still won by three touchdowns.
Stetson Bennett had an absolute roller-coaster of a game, passing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns, but he also had two picks and a completion rate of just 50 percent. He knows he’ll have to be more consistent when he plays teams like Tennessee (next week) or Alabama.
We’re going to see one heck of an SEC East title elimination game next weekend in Athens as the AP’s No. 2 team (Tennessee) travels to face the No. 1 Bulldogs. For now, though, I think the playoff selection committee keeps Georgia at No. 1 even though Tennessee might have a better resume to this point.
There’s definitely going to be plenty of debate about this one, though.
