College Football Playoff

Peach Bowl

1 Georgia v 4 Michigan

Fiesta Bowl

2 Ohio State vs 3 Tennessee

For the first time in a while, we have changed our College Football Playoff projections, and boy did we ever. Major changes across the board.

In the Peach Bowl Semifinal, we have a rematch of last year’s CFP semifinal when Georgia steamrolled the Michigan Wolverines 34-11 in a game that was over at halftime.

We project Georgia, the king of the SEC monsters champ last week, to win out and take the top spot in the rankings, earning the valuable home game for a semifinal.

We’re projecting Michigan to take the final ranking, and this will no doubt be controversial. Through 10 weeks, Michigan has looked like one of the 4 best teams. We’re projecting they lose a close game AT Ohio State which is important to note and stay in the field. This will irate the potential champions of multiple conferences, but it’s about the four best teams making the field.

With Ohio State running the table, they slot in as the #2 seed and will take on our next controversial team with #3 Tennessee getting the nod.

I’ve been skeptical of Tennessee all season, and much of that was founded in their 27-13 loss at Georgia. However, the field has made their path to a playoff berth all but certain. If TCU wins out, Tennessee gets the 4th seed, and I’d expect Tennessee to get in over an ACC or PAC 12 champ.

A Fiesta Bowl playoff between Ohio State and Tennessee would be wild. The first one to 50 might win. But right now, it looks like everyone is still chasing Georgia.
