2. Blake Corum, Michigan

If you listen to Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, Blake Corum is the 2022 Heisman Trophy favorite. I don’t know if that’s true but he’s definitely right in the mix and as I said last week, I sort of believe he’s in control of his destiny.

Corum certainly didn’t hurt his chances with 162 rushing yards against Nebraska and another rushing touchdown. He’s now third in all of college football in rushing yards (1,349) and is tied for first in total touchdowns (18). He’s tied for second in total points scored, is fourth in runs over 20 yards, and is sixth in total yards from scrimmage.

Corum is facing one of the best run defenses in the country in Illinois this weekend as the Wolverines aim to get 11-0. Next up will be Ohio State and the if the Wolverines win, win the Big Ten championship game and Corum keeps putting huge numbers, he’s my bet to win.

But the same can be said for our No. 1 contender.
