As we conclude week 11 of the college football season, we have a pretty clear understanding of who’s left in the College Football Playoff chase, after the latest College Football Playoff rankings were revealed. From top-ranked Georgia, down to USC at #7, that is where our playoff is coming from.

Here are week 12 bowl projections for the New Year’s Six, including the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Cotton Bowl

UCF v USC

Previous: UCF v USC

Central Florida looked impressive early and survived a late Tulane surge to get one of the more impressive Group of Five wins of the season. With the win, UCF is now the top-ranked non-P5 team, and is an AAC conference championship win away from heading to the Cotton Bowl.

UCLA, in prime position to make a late playoff push, laid a late-night egg at home to lowly Arizona. The loss not only kills their playoff shot but puts their chances of winning the Pac-12 in serious danger.

USC will have a difficult journey over the next few weeks. They’re going to play at UCLA, host Notre Dame, and potentially play in the PAC-12 Championship. If USC wins all three of those games, they’re probably getting in. I have them going 2-1, and ending up in the Cotton Bowl.
