I’ll be the first to admit, I expected Michigan to have its way with Illinois in Ann Arbor but the slumping Illini found a way to make things interesting. Heck, Illinois probably should have won the game but some controversial calls and a furious Michigan comeback in the fourth quarter changed things.

Illinois was up 17-10 heading into the fourth and even had a 17-16 lead in the final minute, but Michigan drove down and hit the game-winning field goal with just seconds left.

Is JJ McCarthy the savior everyone was expecting when he took over? The jury’s still out there as he had just 208 yards on 34 attempts and a 46.7 QBR.

Blake Corum has been the star of the team, along with the defense, and he rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, but he had an injury scare that nearly derailed the Wolverines’ playoff hopes. He should be OK.

If you’re Michigan, you have to feel very fortunate to still be unbeaten. Danger has been flirted with time and time again.
