If you haven’t sensed a theme of close games by top-five teams yet, you probably haven’t paid close enough attention.

Ohio State had a tough time with Maryland as the Terrapins seem to always play the Buckeyes tough. Mike Locksley’s team took Ohio State down to the wire and it was a one-score game until the Buckeyes scored a defensive touchdown in the final seconds to make the final look much more lopsided.
Actually, Maryland led at halftime and throughout parts of the second half. Taulia Tagovailoa had one of his best games of the season with 293 yards and two touchdowns, out-dueling CJ Stroud who had just 241 yards and a score.

Dallan Hayden rushed for 146 yards and three scores, putting the team on his back when the defense and Stroud didn’t have their best games.

Style points? Nope, but still No. 2.
