College Football Playoff Rankings 2022: Projected Top 25 for Week 13
Grayson McCall suffered a foot injury a couple of weeks ago and was ruled out for the rest of the regular season and every Chanticleer fan began to panic. But they haven’t lost since. Sure, their Week 12 game was canceled due to the Virginia tragedy, but Coastal Carolina is looking like a legitimate Group of Five contender for a New Year’s Six spot.
Boise State is going to sneak into the rankings this week after maintaining its perfect Mountain West record with a win over Wyoming. Ever since Andy Avalos made a change to his offensive coordinator position, the Broncos have been red-hot, going 6-1 since a 2-2 start to the season. The Broncos might just be ‘back’, folks.
No, Cincinnati isn’t going back to the playoff this year after breaking the streak of no Group of Five teams in the field last year, but Luke Fickell’s team is still very solid. The Bearcats are 9-2 and could be AAC champions once again and a win over Tulane in the finale would go a long way.
I didn’t think South Carolina would really be on the radar this season after starting 1-2 with a blowout loss to Georgia, but Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks have rebounded in a big way. In fact, the Gamecocks are bowl eligible and 7-4 on the year after blowing the doors off the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers on the arm of Rattler and his six touchdown passes. We’ll see the Gamecocks ranked in Week 13.
Will UCLA fall from the rankings after losing to USC in Week 12? If it did, that would be a tragedy because the Bruins were a Dorian Thompson-Robinson interception away from potentially upsetting the Trojans. I could see UCLA dropping a few spots, but this team is better than its record.
