College Football Playoff Rankings 2022: Projected Top 25 for Week 13
Arizona State has already spoiled Washington’s season and it was trying to do the same with Oregon State, but the Beavers went on the road and handled the Sun Devils, 34-7. This was an impressive win because the Beavers took care of business and a win over Oregon in Corvallis in Week 13 would be a program changer.
Ole Miss lost to Alabama in heartbreaking fashion last week and that one loss has now turned into a streak, falling on the road to Arkansas. The Razorbacks became bowl eligible with the win and Ole Miss fell to 8-3 when it was 8-1 just a couple of short weeks ago, knocking on the playoff door. Lane Kiffin’s team will now hope for New Year’s Six consideration.
Could North Carolina have possibly had a worse week? Mack Brown’s team has locked up a berth in the ACC title game and it was knocking on the door of the top 10 and, heck, a playoff berth was a long-shot but going 11-1 in the regular season and beating Clemson in the ACC title game would spark an interesting conversation. But the Tar Heels lost to a bad Georgia Tech team. Not good.
Tulane was the first win of the week in terms of ranked teams, beating SMU on Thursday night to improve to 9-2. They’ll probably jump a few spots inside the top 20 thanks to a number of teams stumbling and a few likely falling completely out of the playoff rankings this week. The Green Wave are pushing for that New Year’s Six bowl.
Florida State will end the regular season in second place in the ACC Atlantic and if you told Seminole fans that would be the case before the season started, they would have taken it in a heartbeat. This team has exceeded expectations this year and after dominating Louisiana in Week 12, they’ll climb to No. 16.
