It’s that time of the season in which SEC teams take a little break and break up tough conference matchups with a Group of Five or FCS opponent.

This year, Alabama got Austin Peay.

The Crimson Tide were expected to blow the doors off the Governors, but that wasn’t quite the case. Alabama was up just 17-0 at halftime and then added another 17 points in the second half.

Bryce Young had a decent game with 221 yards and two touchdowns on 18-of-24 completions, Jase McClellan rushed for 156 yards and two scores, and Jermaine Burton had 128 receiving yards and two touchdowns. It was a pretty average with and a nice tune-up game heading into the season finale.

But I just don’t think the committee is going to be impressed enough to move them up a spot after Tennessee’s blowout loss. I think we’ll actually see the Tide stay at No. 1 and get jumped by another team.
