Yes, Clemson should jump Alabama and I truly think the committee will give the Tigers the nod after a Week 12 shellacking of Miami at home.

The Tigers raced out to a 24-0 lead at halftime and then held on to beat the Hurricanes by 30. This win over Miami is more impressive than Alabama’s 34-0 win over Austin Peay. I don’t even think that’s up for debate.

Plus, a one-loss Clemson team should get the nod over a two-loss Alabama team, no matter the conference ties of each. I think Clemson should have a legitimate shot at the playoff if it goes 11-1 in the regular season and wins the ACC title game. But North Carolina’s loss to Georgia Tech takes a little luster off the ACC Championship matchup but a win over South Carolina would improve the resume.

Dabo Swinney’s team may sneak into the playoff after all.
