Best bets for College Football Week 13

Notre Dame football over USC is my only upset straight up. I’m sure there will be some others but that’s one that will shake up the College Football Playoff race.

In terms of upset picks against the spread, I think there are a few opportunities to take advantage of spreads on Saturday. One of those is South Carolina (+14) at Clemson.

I’m not saying Spencer Rattler and company are going to win at Death Valley, but the Gamecocks are a top-25 team and think they are better than the likes of North Carolina State.

Clemson wins the game but the Gamecocks should cover the spread, at least if they play at all as they did a week ago in the upset win over Tennessee.

Speaking of big spreads, No. 1 Georgia is favored to beat Georgia Tech by 36 points. However, that seems a little steep to me. The Yellow Jackets have beaten two ranked teams under their interim head coach and just beat North Carolina last week.

Drake Maye didn’t even throw a touchdown pass against the Yellow Jackets and while I don’t see Georgia Tech winning outright, a win against the spread seems very possible.

I also think Tennessee is going to have a tough time covering the 14-point spread against Vanderbilt. The Commodores beat a top-25 team on the road recently and Joe Milton isn’t a great quarterback, so I’m going to say the Vols win, but it’s closer than the experts think.
