After Tulane notched a big win over Cincinnati on Saturday, the Green Wave will host the ACC title game. Here are the scenarios for who they might face.

The incredible season for Tulane football continued on Black Friday as the Green Wave notched their second top-25 win on the road this season thanks to a 27-24 victory over Cincinnati football, on the road.

It was a huge win for the Green Wave who improved to 10-2 on the season because it clinched a berth in the AAC title game for Tulane Football. It’s a game that the Green Wave will host.

Michael Pratt threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Deuce Watts after the Bearcats took the lead with 6:30 left in the fourth.

From there, Tulane football was able to close it out and got a huge game from Tyjae Spears, who carried the ball 35 times for 181 yards. He also scored two touchdowns.

Updated AAC title game scenarios

While the Green Wave will host the AAC title game and now have the inside track on a NY6 Bowl Berth, it’s still far from a sure thing.

For starters, they will need to win the AAC title game next week and the opponent is far from certain. UCF, which beat Tulane in the regular season, can wrap up a berth in the championship game with a win over USF on Saturday night at 7 p.m. EST.

However, Houston and Cincinnati football still have a shot as well. If South Florida beats the Knights, then the Bearcats would likely advance.

Houston would need to be Tulsa to create a tie and it would come down to computer rankings. According to a release from the American Athletic Conference on Friday, Cincinnati football had an average ranking of 26.75 this week, while Houston was at 47.25.

It’s hard to know how the rankings would be impacted by a loss but it looks like that scenario would benefit the Bearcats. So Tulane is in the AAC title game and it looks like a rematch awaits against UCF or Cincinnati next Saturday.
