If you told me before the season that Kansas State would be sitting in the top 10 at the end of the regular season, I would have called you insane. But here we are.

Kansas State is likely to jump into the top 10 this week with Oregon and Clemson losing and I see the Wildcats sitting at No. 9 overall. They’ve been really solid this year and they’re two one-score losses away from being in the playoff conversation. Heck, even beating Tulane or Texas this year would have the Wildcats nearing the playoff field.

Chris Klieman has done such a good job with this program and he’s proving why he’s considered one of the best coaches in the country who no one seems to talk about.

The last time Kansas State finished the season ranked in the top 10? All the way back in 2002. And the last time they finished the year ranked at all? You’d have to go all the way back to 2014 for that. Klieman has been fantastic.
