The 2022 Heisman Trophy race has one week left and here are the top five contenders heading into championship week.

I can’t believe that championship week is already here and that the 2022 Heisman Trophy ceremony is less than two weeks away.

Week 13 of the college football season had a major impact on the 2022 Heisman Trophy race and we sort of figured that was going to happen.

The Michigan-Ohio State game always loomed large and while Blake Corum was only able to throw the ball once, C.J. Stroud got his opportunity and didn’t take advantage of it.

This week’s ranking is going to be part list of contenders and a prediction of the final rankings. Very few guys are going to have a chance to make an impact on the race this week and here are the top five Heisman Trophy contenders going into championship week.

5. Stetson Bennett, Georgia

I don’t think Stetson Bennett has much of a chance. I’ll be honest about that. But he’s one of the few guys playing with any hope and he’s actually moved up to fourth in terms of the 2022 Heisman Trophy adds according to Fan Duel.

The Georgia Bulldogs have a chance to win the SEC championship, something they didn’t do last season, and pairing that with a national title would be a dream finish for Bennett.

He’s thrown for over 3,100 yards but has just 16 touchdowns. He’s also got just six interceptions. On top of that, he’s run for 11 touchdowns and over 500 yards and completed 67 percent of his passes and if you don’t think he’s a big part of the Bulldogs’ success, you aren’t paying attention.

It might be too late to win it, but with a big game, Bennett could earn himself a ticket to New York.
