With the release of the latest College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night, we are starting to get a good idea of who will make the final field of four.

Georgia is still the top team, Michigan slid in behind the Bulldogs after beating Ohio State, TCU moved up a spot, and USC jumped into the top four after ending the season with a win over Notre Dame to improve to 11-1.

The field is almost set and there aren’t too many complaints about that top six but I have a few gripes with some of the other rankings. I think a few teams were ranked just a bit too low and have been punished too much.

Here are my biggest snubs from Week 14’s rankings.

3. Oregon Ducks (No. 16)

I get that losing to Oregon State was disappointing and unexpected, but the Beavers are a good team and Oregon lost by just one score. The Ducks did blow a 21-point lead in the second half, but that was one of three ranked losses this season and the second in Pac-12 play that was by less than a touchdown.

In fact, Oregon’s first loss of the year was against the nation’s No. 1 team and I don’t think the Ducks were quite ready for that. They were still getting comfortable in the new system implemented by Dan Lanning and Kenny Dillingham and Bo Nix struggled.

After that, Oregon reeled off eight straight wins and seven of those were by at least 15 points. The Ducks beat two ranked teams in the process and looked like a well-oiled machine. Then they lost a heartbreaker to rival Washington by three, beat No. 10 Utah, and then lost another gut-wrenching game against No. 21 Oregon State on the road.

I get that a 1-2 finish to the regular season warrants a drop, but falling seven spots after a ranked road loss by four points seems excessive.
