The latest College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night and while there is some controversy, as always, there aren’t a ton of complaints with the top four.

Right now, Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and USC make up the playoff field and it may be one of the most winnable fields in recent memory. Teams like Alabama and Ohio State are right on the edge and they’re hoping for losses by TCU and USC in order to sneak into the field and make things really interesting.

But there were some other questionable decisions by the committee.

Here’s who I think is the most overrated in the latest poll.

3. Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 24)

How can the No. 24 team in the country be overrated? Well, when there’s an overreaction to a road rivalry win over the No. 20 team from a week ago, I take exception. Mississippi State has been fairly average all year and just because it beat a struggling Ole Miss team, it went from unranked to No. 24.

All you have to do is look closely at Mississippi State’s resume to realize that the Bulldogs just don’t deserve to be ranked. Sure, their record is solid, but they haven’t beaten anyone but Ole Miss.

The Bulldogs did beat Texas A&M earlier in the year at home, but as we’ve seen, the Aggies were really bad this year and won’t even make a bowl. They also beat Auburn and Arkansas in SEC play, finishing with a .500 record in the conference. So outside of Ole Miss, their best win was Texas A&M. Only four of their eight wins were against bowl-eligible teams and only one was against a team with over a .500 record.

Against LSU, Alabama, and Georgia, the Bulldogs were out-scored 106-41.

But hey, I guess that Ole Miss win does mean they should be ranked.
