2. Florida State Seminoles (No. 13)

It might seem hard to argue the Seminoles at No. 13 in the Week 14 rankings, but much like Mississippi State, if you look closely at the resume, the record isn’t that impressive.

I will give the Seminoles credit, they did beat a really good LSU team, but the Tigers simply were not that great early in the season. They got LSU at the perfect time, winning 24-23.

Since that win, Florida State’s best win was Louisville which finished the season 7-5. Outside of that win, the Seminoles beat a Boston College team that won’t make a bowl, a bad Georgia Tech team without a coach, a bad Miami team, a struggling Syracuse team that went 7-5 after starting 6-0, a .500 Louisiana team, and an average Florida squad.

Five of the Seminoles’ nine wins were against bowl-eligible teams, but I do think that seeing them struggle against the class of the ACC (Clemson, NC State, Wake Forest) should be enough to drop them just slightly.

No. 13 seems very high for a team whose second-best win is Louisville.
