1. Clemson Tigers (No. 9)

Yes, I’m throwing another ACC team on here because, well, I think the ACC is incredibly poor this season and the fact that the Tigers are still a top-10 team makes no sense.

Clemson just lost to South Carolina at home last week as the No. 8 team in the country and if the Tigers had won, we might be talking about them sitting at No. 5 or No. 6 in the latest playoff rankings with a chance to sneak in with an ACC title win and/or losses by USC or TCU.

But Dabo Swinney’s team choked.

And if you’ve watched the Tigers this season, you would agree that calling them a top-10 team just isn’t fitting. They struggled to start the year and then snuck by Wake Forest in a shootout that seemed to expose them. They then beat another overrated team, in my opinion, in NC State by 10, stole one from Florida State by six, and then nearly fell victim to an upset against Syracuse at home.

The Tigers then lost to Notre Dame before picking up one of its best wins over Louisville, and then handled a bad Miami team before losing to South Carolina.

I’m just not buying these disappointing Tigers as a top-10 team. I’m not sure that there’s a single team ranked ahead of them that they’d beat and I could tell you about 5-6 teams ranked behind them that they’d lose to.
