Top 5 landing spots for DJ Uiagalelei in college football transfer portal

4. The Oregon Ducks
The Ducks have had a lot of success with transfer quarterbacks over the last couple of years. Boston College transfer quarterback Anthony Brown led the Ducks to a 10-win season in 2021. Auburn transfer quarterback Bo Nix had the best season of his collegiate career this season and was a Heisman candidate until he had nagging injuries.
Kenny Dillingham — as previously mentioned — has moved on to Arizona State. Head coach Dan Lanning plucked UTSA co-offensive coordinator Will Stein for the same position. The Roadrunners had one of the more quarterback-friendly offenses in the country and would complement Uiagalelei’s skill set.
DJ Uiagalelei making a move to Oregon has a couple of contingencies. First, does he want to play in California? Going home could mean going to Southern California (the region, not the school), where he’s from. Also, Dillingham and Stein might like the progress of blue-chip quarterback Ty Thompson. However, there was a reason that Dillingham grabbed Nix out of the portal and did not go with Thompson this season.
Even with Thompson and Jay Butterfield on the roster, bringing in Uiagalelei to compete during spring would not be a negative, especially if they — Thompson and Butterfield — cannot win the job.
