1. Michigan

It kind of goes without saying at this point, but heading into bowl season, Michigan football is hot. Like, scorching hot.

The Wolverines are 13-0 after a huge 43-22 win in the Big Ten Championship game — the program’s second straight conference title — and will face No. 3 TCU in the Fiesta Bowl (CFP Semi) on New Year’s Eve. A win in that game and we will see Michigan compete for a National Championship for the first time since 1997.

The Wolverines have a few massive wins this year, namely 41-17 over No. 10 Penn State, 45-23 at No. 2 Ohio State, and most recently a 43-22 thrashing of Purdue, the Big Ten West Champions.

If Michigan football can stay this hot, I think the Wolverines have a real shot at winning a National Title. Last year, the Wolverines were in a similar spot — Michigan was 12-1 after its 42-3 win over Iowa in the conference title game, yet got taken to the shed by Georgia, the eventual National Champions.

This year the Wolverines will be looking for some revenge, Michigan has tasted some success, but is ready for more.

The Wolverines are favored by more than a touchdown against TCU (who just lost to K-State in the conference title game), so unlike last year, I am expecting a Michigan win in the CFP semi-final.
