The state of Florida had three CFB teams make a bowl game this season, but the selection process did not treat them equally.

Florida, Florida State, and Central Florida have each been honored with invitations to a bowl game for the 2022-23 season and, of course, bowl games are always meaningful opportunities for those who are good enough to earn appearances in them.

However, just because a school accepts its invitation doesn’t mean that the bowl includes an opponent that the school deserves, and that is the prime takeaway from several matchups every year.

Did the three Floridian powers get a fair selection for their bowls? If not, why? Were the provided opponents too bad for them, or perhaps too good? Let’s find out as I break down each one—and grade them accordingly.

Oh, and a quick side note: I am aware of bowl tie-ins often being reliant on conferences/the standings within them. This list has nothing to do with how teams were paired. Rather, its sole purpose is to determine the value of the pairings themselves.
