3. Gator Bowl (South Carolina vs. Notre Dame)

Following the trend of good quarterback battles, the Gator Bowl could feature more of an intriguing one as Spencer Rattler plans to play and he’ll face off against the future of Notre Dame.

In fact, the Irish lost Drew Pyne who started the last 10 games of the 2022 season and led Notre Dame to a spot in the final playoff rankings and a Gator Bowl berth. He decided to enter the transfer portal, giving way to Tyler Buchner and Steve Angeli. Both were highly-touted prospects out of high school and Buchner was actually the starter to begin the season before going down with a shoulder injury. He returns to push for the starting job again.

As for Rattler, he’s one of the top comebacker players in college football after basically being tossed aside by Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma last season in favor of Caleb Williams. He transferred to South Carolina and has led the Gamecocks to a heck of a finish to the 2022 season.

South Carolina is one of the hottest teams in college football and Notre Dame is looking to win its first bowl game under Marcus Freeman.
