Oregon football is officially winning 2022 Early Signing Day
What an early signing day it’s been for Oregon football.
Dan Lanning’s first real recruiting class is coming together quite nicely after a massive haul on Wednesday afternoon. He already had a solid class for 2023, but he landed some five-stars and flipped a couple of top prospects from other contenders.
It’s safe to say the Ducks are currently winning early signing day.
Oregon has jumped all the way to No. 7 in the team rankings after a great start to the early signing period.
Oregon football is killing it on signing day
The biggest concern Oregon fans had when Mario Cristobal bolted for Miami was recruiting. Would Lanning be able to do what Cristobal could and bring in some top recruiting classes that paced the Pac-12?
It turns out Lanning has what it takes. He may actually be an even better recruiter than his predecessor.
On Wednesday, Lanning picked up commitments from five-star safety Peyton Bowen and five-star edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei, and flipped four-star quarterback Austin Novosad from Baylor and four-star cornerback Daylen Austin from LSU.
Lanning has addressed some major needs and the rich got richer as he’s picking up a top-10 class after finishing the season near the top of the Pac-12.
Oregon fans have to be ecstatic about the signing day haul and they’re probably well over the fact that Cristobal has moved on. Lanning is proving that he can recruit and coach at a high level and signing day goes to the Ducks this year.
Who would have thought that Lanning would steal recruits from Brian Kelly and Dave Aranda on signing day?
