2022 Gasparilla Bowl: Odds, prediction and how to watch Wake Forest vs Missouri
The 2022 Gasparilla Bowl should be an exciting matchup between Wake Forest and Missouri and here is how to watch, the odds, and a prediction.
When Missouri and Wake Forest meet in the 2022 Gasparilla Bowl, it’s going to be matchup of two teams heading in opposite directions.
Wake Forest started the season 6-1 and looked like it could be making a push for a New Year’s Six Bowl berth. Instead, the Demon Deacons lost four of their last five games.
Quarterback Sam Hartman put up stellar numbers but the defense really struggled and it’s going to have a tough time holding up against a Missouri team that is from the SEC, physical on both sides of the ball, and likes to run it with their backs, and QB Brady Cook.
An issue for Missouri is that the Tigers won’t be all full-strength after losing some players via opt-outs and the transfer portal such as their top wide receiver Dominic Lovett. Missouri is also dealing with some losses on defense.
The Tigers boasted 36 sacks during the regular season and held five opponents to 17 points or less which should bode well against the Demon Deacons and their explosive offense.
Yet, with three NFL-caliber defenders not playing in the game in Isaiah McGuire, DJ Coleman, and Martez Manuel, Missouri’s defense won’t be anywhere close to full strength.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the odds, a prediction and how to watch the 2022 Gasparilla Bowl.
2022 Gasparilla Bowl odds
This is almost a pick-em game but Wake Forest is a 2.5-point favorite right now according to Fanduel. The over/under is 58.5 and the money line is -134 for Wake Forest and +112 for Missouri.

2022 Gasparilla Bowl prediction
It’s always exciting to see the ACC and SEC square off. Missouri won just six games but finished 4-2 and notched an impressive win over Arkansas to reach a bowl game. Brady Cook is a dual-threat and will try to establish himself as the long-term starter with a bowl win, something that Missouri hasn’t had since the 2014 Cotton Bowl.
However, playing really good quarterbacks in bowl games can be a struggle. Sam Hartman wasn’t the issue this season for the Demon Deacons. He put up stellar numbers and while he can turn the ball over at times, I would expect another big game from the veteran.
The Missouri defense is probably right up there with some of the better ones that Hartman has faced this season but with the opt-outs, the Tigers won’t get enough stops to win.
Both quarterbacks will get it going in this one and it will have some fireworks but I’m taking Wake Forest to win 34-28.
