Signing the No. 8 recruiting class for 2023 in the early period, Marcus Freeman looks like he has Notre Dame football trending heavily in the right direction.

Brian Kelly really improved recruiting in his final couple of years with the Irish but it looks like things haven’t skipped a beat under Freeman.

Although the Irish are just 8-4 in 2022, they look to be one of the best teams in the country for 2023, especially if some guys from the incoming recruiting class can step up and have immediate impacts.

These three guys should have the biggest impacts right away.

I’m usually very hesitant to include offensive linemen in the “early impact” lists especially when they’re not planning on enrolling early, but Charles Jagusah may have to step up in year one.

The 6-foot-6, 308-pound tackle from Illinois is the Irish’s top-ranked recruit in the 2023 class and landing him was a huge win for Marcus Freeman and Co. He’s going to be really good and with a few linemen expected to move on, he could come in and have an impact right away.

While he projects as a tackle and Joe Alt and Blake Fisher are both likely to come back next season as juniors, I could see Jagusah snagging a spot on the two-deep. He’s just too talented to redshirt and I think he could give the Irish offense an upgrade on that two-deep immediately.

Don’t sleep on Jagusah in 2023.
