2. Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

Georgia’s 2021 defensive line might have been the best we’ve ever seen at the collegiate level.

Travon Walker was the No. 1 overall pick, Jordan Davis received Heisman votes as a defensive tackle and was also a first-round pick, and Devonte Wyatt was another first-round defensive tackle.

And yet, the guy who may have been their best player is still in college.

Jalen Carter is that good.

He is Mel Kiper’s No. 1 prospect and could go anywhere in the top five, depending on who’s drafting. Carter can move both inside and out and is a generational defensive line prospect.

I just mentioned how the matchup between Ohio State’s offensive line and Georgia’s defensive line will be one to follow. Carter is a big reason for that.

If Carter ends up taking significant snaps against Paris Johnson Jr., this micro-matchup in the Peach Bowl will be an incredible watch. Ohio State will have its hands full trying to stop Carter, who will look to be disruptive as usual against the Buckeyes.
