Eric Fields

One of the biggest losses for Nebraska football in the transfer portal was linebacker Ernest Hausmann who transferred to Michigan.

The former three-star linebacker from Columbus, Nebraska was one of the best young players on the defense this season with more than 50 tackles. He had 12 total against the Wolverines which is probably why they were so interested in him.

At any rate, Nebraska needed to find an athletic linebacker to fill his spot and they did that in Eric Fields, a three-star linebacker out of the state of Oklahoma.

Fields was unrated until Nebraska started to show serious interest but he had 180 tackles at a 5A program last season and should have a great chance to earn some immediate playing time behind Nick Henrich and Luke Reimer.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder announced for Nebraska on Signing Day and he plays a position where Nebraska needs a player exactly like him to emerge.
